ITF - Seeds announced for Paralympics

The Paralympic Tennis Event starts next Monday, 8 September beginning eight days of intense competition during which 18 medals will be contested by 112 competitors representing 35 countries.

The men's singles features 64 competitors while 32 women and 16 quad players will contest their respective singles events. The doubles events will comprise players already contesting the singles with a maximum of 32 men's, 16 women's
and eight quad pairs.

The ITF announced the seedings today with Shingo Kunieda (JPN) and Vergeer (NED) heading the seeds for the men's and women's singles while Athens silver medallist David Wagner (USA) is the No1 seed for the quad singles.
