UCI - UCI Congress in Varese
26 Sep 2008 00:00

The UCI President Pat McQuaid opened the meeting by informing the assembled National Federations delegates of the signing, the day before, of agreements between the UCI, the EPA, RCS and Unipublic. This announcement was received with a great deal of satisfaction by all the representatives of the cycling family.

Following these agreements, the UCI proceeded to lift the suspension inflicted by its Management Committee on the French Cycling Federation FFC last June, as well as to cease procedures undertaken against the President of the FFC Jean Pitallier, the President of the AIGCP Eric Boyer and the International Commissaire Joel Menard.

The National Federations delegates then heard a presentation by the society AlterHego, presenting the conclusions of the n-depth study of cycling, launched by the UCI President. This study will be made public in the near future.

Finally, the Congress gave its agreement to the affiliation of seven new National Federations to the UCI, those of Malawi, Granada, Montenegro, Serbia, Somalia, Gambia and Ghana.
